Outdoor Narrated Sessions

Narrations at Dolphin Research Center are a non-scripted, play-by-play session and therefore unique among marine mammal facilities.

Narrations are meant to be a blend of action, entertainment, and education.

Daily narrations can range from “Hurricane Prep” where you’ll learn how we prepare our facility and keep our flippered family safe in the event of a hurricane to “Dolphin Sea School” where you’ll assist our trainers by cheering on our youngest dolfriends during these important, foundational learning sessions. You’ll be able to watch as our young dolphins learn the basics such as sharing, cooperation, and creativity! Each day there is a schedule board that lists the narration topic, location, and time so you’ll be able to see a variety of narrations throughout your visit with different dolphins. Our narrated sessions are not limited to our dolphin family either, we also offer bird presentations in addition to our sea lion training sessions where you’ll learn the different techniques we use when training behaviors to our furry friends.

Indoor Presentations

Dolphin Research Center also offers indoor presentations. During a hot summer day when you need air conditioning or when there is an unexpected thunderstorm, you’ll be able to go into our Welcome Center to learn more about specific topics like Keys Critters, our Manatee Rescue, and much more! When an indoor presentation isn’t scheduled at a specific time, the Welcome Center is still open for guests. One room has a looping 30 minute long video, “The History of DRC” and another room has free activities like coloring, reading, and games for kids.
